This is the first “extra” article in my C++ tutorial series.

If you’re a bit lost when having to chose an editor to write your C++ game, here are my suggestions along with instruction about how to compile the tutorial.


Of course there are lots of other great tools… Eclipse/CDT, Netbeans, KDevelop, … I focus here on fast and lightweight stuff.

  1. I’d suggest Notepad++ as well. It’s a rather lightweight editor, and very common throughout the roguelike development community. It is even being used by some SE companies.
