Goblin camp 0.2 is out !

At last, something roguelike related.

Goblin camp is probably the most promising project using libtcod. As far as I know, it’s also the only project that successfully used the SDL callback to provide a tiled interface. It has a strong community and a main developer with high stick-to-it-iveness. Above all feats, those are the two most important for a successful project.

This release comes with a nice crafting guide that shows how deep the game already is despite its youth.

  1. I’m amazed at how advanced the game is after so little time. For example, go to the blog and download the PDF guide. It has 65 pages just with diagrams of how materials and items can be transformed into each other!

I played it for a while and it’s really easy to get into. It’s the closest thing to a Dwarf Fortress with a sane interface and without all the micro-management. Though we can’t really ditch DF, since it was the first to make a trail in this direction, and GC and others would never exist without it 🙂

  2. How does it compare to Towns?
