language survey results

In case you didn’t see them on r.g.r.d, here are the results of the roguelike language survey. To be taken with a grain of salt, but this makes me want to try a Lua wrapper even more…

  1. I’ve heard great things about Lua, and I certainly like its simplicity… but indexing arrays from one just doesn’t feel natural.

I’m surprised that Java dropped so much.

  2. Maybe java coders didn’t answer the survey. As i said, it’s as relevant as votes are.

  3. Interesting to see the appearance of Ruby on the scene so dramatically different over these years – especially since it’s been around since the early 90s, it’s current upsurgence is strange. Not undeserved of course.
