libtcod 1.4.3 -> 1.5

Thanks to Mingos, a new module is being added to libtcod. Something needed by pretty much every roguelike. Thus, the next release won’t be named 1.4.3 but rather 1.5. Here is a hint about the new module. If you read Mingos’ blog, you’ve already heard about it…

  1. Heh. Nifty. ETA?

  2. Nice! I’ve been following Mingo’s work with the name generators and it’s quality stuff, I think it’s a great addition to the lib.

    Hm, why is it 1.5 now? (You could of course ask me “why not” and I wouldn’t be able to answer; I’m just curious!)

  3. Well the versioning rules I’ve been following were :
    – increase major version when a new module is added
    – increase minor version else
    Since there’s a new module, it has to be 1.5 😀

  4. uh ? Estimated Time of Arrival ?

  5. Yeah. When do I get my grubby little mitts on it?

  6. @Bernard: what’s ETA? Don’t tell me it’s Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, I’ve nothing in common with them :).

  7. 1.5.0b2 should be there within days. It will also get a new approximated gaussian distribution random number generator (thank to Mingos, again). It’s still there on svn if you dare to compile it 😉
